  13. Royal Melbourne GC is a composite course of 18 holes made up from the east
  14. and west courses. It was fashioned from a duneland setting somewhere around
  15. 1926 by Alister Mackenzie (of Augusta and Cypress Point fame). Many times
  16. it has hosted the Australian Open, as well as the World Cup in 1959, 1972,
  17. and 1988.

  19. The trees along this stretch of dunes have grown since 1926 and I hope I
  20. have recreated it as well as possible. Greens are somewhat large, sandtraps
  21. are usually quite deep. Wind is a major factor, though I have set the wind
  22. to Moderate. Greens shouldn't be too difficult to putt. I have placed only
  23. one pin on each hole and that is in the center of each green. That gives
  24. an accurate hole measurement. You put them where you like and add others.

  26. Background is my own modified extensively from the JNUG parkland setting.
  27. Trees are of the proper type for this area; not the usual junk that came
  28. with the JNUG original game. I think it is important to try and capture the
  29. "real" look and feel of a course.

  33. Hawaii. I collected some great objects from these guys as well as entire
  34. courses. Some of the trees here are my own; some are from the folks
  35. mentioned above. You gotta be nuts not to have EVERYTHING these guys put
  36. out!

  38. This was my first attempt to recreate a course and I'm happy with the
  39. results. Along with this course, I've uploaded two other recent creations:

  41. 1. LA COSTA CC in Carlsbad, California site of the first stop each year of
  42.    the PGA Tour for the Tournament of Champions.

  44. 2. WAIALAE CC in Honolulu, Hawaii site of the United Hawaiian Open on the
  45.    PGA Tour. (My favorite as I lived in Hawaii for 5 years).

  47. When time permits I'll be working on MEDINAH CC (last years US Open);
  48. OAKLAND HILLS CC (this years US Senior Open) and maybe a really accurate
  49. and realistic ST ANDREWS GC (last years British Open). I have some good
  50. source material for all three and might get to them before the end of the
  51. year.
